Dr. Yonge is the recipient of numerous awards, including the prestigious 3M Teaching Fellowship, the Rutherford Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching, Distinguished University Professor, and a Vargo Distinguished Teaching Chair.

Clinical and Teaching Areas:
Her clinical area of expertise is teaching and learning. She is a Registered Psychologist and in this role maintains a practice in conflict resolution. She is also a Registered Nurse and her expertise is in the area of psychiatric mental health nursing. 

Research Interests :
Her SSHRC-funded program of research is in the area of preceptorship and courage in female leaders.
